Introduction
I think abstract photography is unique and different to other styles of photography because it looks at all the formal elements in photography like focus, lines, shadows, lighting and much more and photographers can make really unique photos with abstraction.
Formal elements
The formal elements include things like focus, light, shadows, line and space and much more but the meaning of formal elements is what they do to make the photo stand out much more in unique ways. They can also bring the focus of the people looking at it towards other points of the photo. in this photo the formal elements are line, light, shadow and tone.

My formal element pictures
In this lesson we had to go outside and look for objects with the formal elements but only capture the formal elements it was different since we were told not to focus on the whole thing but just the lines, shapes and shadows
My favourite images
These were my favourite because they showed some of the formal elements better then my others u can see where the it really focus onto the grass with the mirror picture the mirrors represent shapes but through the mirror u still see the other shapes in the backround.
Dafna Talmor Research
Dafna Talmor used different pictures to mix other landscapes with each other and she was able to match up and blend different colours she also made other shapes with the pictures as well as keeping some gaps to show how she does her work by cutting up photos and putting them together to make her own landscapes and it shows that she thinks a lot about what goes where and what she's going to put down before taking the photo.
The title constructed landscapes suggests that she make her own landscapes out of others and looks carefully to know what kinda landscapes she's making.
The artist might of put the photos together to show how different places can blend together no matter how they are naturally constructed and she could put together two completely different atmospheres and they would match together

We have nothing to assure us that this isn't one location, and so we attempt to recompose it, to understand its multiple positions - Dafna Talmor
Dafna Talmor
In the workshop we recreated the famous work of Dafna Talmor by using three different pictures and cutting them up and placing them together and making constructed landscapes with this we were able to make work very similar to Dafna talmor's work. the kinds of pictures we used were photograms/negatives and it gave more effect to her work when she was able to blend the colours with each other and mix the landscapes.
Saul Leiter
5 characteristics
Focus- in his photos they are blurry around the edges and through the middle
Light- His pictures are dark and he shows a lot of dark areas especially round the edges
Colour- Theres loads of bright colours in his photos which make them stand out
Atmosphere- The weather is mostly rainy in his photos which help blur objects out
Condensation- He uses the condensation on windows to focus on one person or object

This is my favourite picture from Saul leiter as he uses the condensation on the window to focus on a person walking by and blocks out all the other surrounding things in the back round and he makes the man and the yellow van stand out the most

A window covered with raindrops interests me more than a picture of a famous person
I chose this quote because Saul is playing around with his characteristics by using the rain on the window to create a water colour painting look and he plays around with colour as he likes bright colours he shows only one colour which stands out compared to anything else in the photo and with the rain on the window makes people focus on the man and the colour in the backround
Saul Leiter inspired
One of my characteristics is focus and i managed to show the same effect with my photos by blurring out the back round and focused on one object in the middle of the room and another characteristic was colour as in some pictures with a plain white back round i managed to add some bright colours that are kind of hidden but so they are still very noticeable it would of been better if i could add more of the characteristics like light the atmosphere and others that leiter uses
